Boundless: Synapse vs Fediverse vs companies

Boundless: Synapse is predicated on the idea that the ideal social network or virtual world is currently unknown and will likely emerge through ongoing innovation and user adaptation. Rather than favoring a specific format, Boundless: Synapse focuses on developing maximally format-agnostic tools that enable straightforward interoperability across experiences, reducing the network effect by creating easy interoperability between experiences.

Our approach is complementary to businesses, non-profits and open source initiatives rather than aiming to replace them.

We believe that corporations generally seek to avoid the complexities and regulatory scrutiny associated with acting as ultimate arbiters of user conduct.  The inconvenience caused by having an organization that stands for people's rights will be a lesser inconvenience than having governments regulate them via force of law.

Crucially, to ensure confidence and facilitate adoption, the conditions for Synapse integration must be strictly confined to pre-outlined tenets; ambiguity or the potential for future expansion of these requirements would deter participation.
